Re-Start

Well that was a long pause wasn't it? What I thought was going to be a short amount of time to get some things that weren't going all to well straightened out took longer than expected. I mean when it rains it pours and boy did I have a river just come down on me.

Not to take things to a whole bore snooze fest but a lot had to do with family and figuring things out lots of moving parts to get settled down. Things are slowly starting to get back together and I am slowly getting my grove back. With that being said I needed to make this blog my priority again. I mean I know before I left and took my brake I had only posted a few times but I LOVED each time I did it.

With that being said some exciting news happened to my boyfriend and I over the past few weeks. We were approved to purchase our first home. Exciting and terrifying all rolled into one huge heap of news, talk about ulcer city.

To all the first time home buyers I now know all the nerves and excitement you have been experiencing and have experienced. When we found out we immediately started to make a list of what we wanted in a house nothing to outrageous (no castle this time) and the location we wanted to live at. We currently reside in Central Phoenix and that is our first choice, our second choice is North Phoenix a little closer to work (I would love to be able to ride my bike to work).

Our weekends are consumed with looking at homes and touring them and then going home making a pro/con list and what we can and can not live with/without. I didn't realize how meticulous we were in noticing everything good/bad with a house we looked at. Were giving ourselves time to find the right house for us in hopes to grow a little family there.

We don't want to rush into anything were waiting to walk into a house and say yep this is it. I am really excited to get this blog back up and fully running. I needed my eyes and my mind to reset and I know that I at a good speed to be doing this again. Thanks again y'all!!! -Xochitl xoxo

Sunday Funday!!!!

Sundays are reserved for family in our house. We typically go see my parents and spend time with them and some family that lives here come over and we always have a little get together. It’s always fun to see everyone after a nice weekend and start our week off with some family. Our weeks tend to get busy with work and home stuff that I do forget to call and see how my family is doing so seeing them on Sunday always feels good.

Outfit Post: Weekend Edition

Saturday is my favorite day, not just because there is no work by because I get to see my friends and catch up have dinner and drinks.  However this heat is killing me but it gives me a chance to brake out and wear my shorts. For a few years I was a little self conscious to wear them but not anymore I am very comfortable in my skin. I am slowly working out eating better it's a process and it takes time and dedication and I'm putting in the effort and time and I know I will see the results.

FBF: New York

It's the weekend and I am very excited I get to do a lot of hanging out by the pool, catch up on my celebrity gossip, see my friends and shop (duh). As I got chores done today I came across a postcard from a friend who is backpacking through Europe and one of her stops was in New York. It made me reminisce when my boyfriend and I went in September for the first time. It is by far one of the most amazing cities I have ever been to. We lucked out went when we went because it was when New York Fashion Week was there, it was awesome just to experience that even if it was just outside watching the shows on the big screen they had. From the moment we landed we were on the go we didn't care about any jet lag we just wanted to experience everything from the city that never sleeps. We did so much and saw so much from eating pizza at Ray's in Time Square and sitting on the red stairs, being followed by the naked cowboy, going to see Lady Liberty, Central Park, 5th Ave, catching a Yankee's game and oh so much more. The 4 days we were there were just enough to get my pallet wet for more New York I really can't wait to go back.

Throwback Thursday: Shoe Edition

I did something last weekend I never thought I would do since I was 12 years old I bought some Birkenstocks. I must say it was the best shoe investment I have made in a long time. I forgot how comfortable they were first off and second they really are good go to shoe for the summer. I am trying to pair them with almost everything I own.

Outfit Post: Maxi/Kimono Love

Living in Arizona you get two seasons here extremely hot and mildly cold, I mean we start putting sweaters on as soon as the temperature hits 75 degrees. It gets really tricky when July hits because that's the start of monsoon season so on top of being hot it starts to get humid. It's never fun getting ready when you know it's just going to be sticky and hot that's why I love maxi dresses and my all time favorite wear with anything kimono's. Anyone at any size can wear this look and pair it with some cute accessories and your good to go.

Palm Springs!!!

A few weeks back my favorite gals (my sister and two cousins) planed a girls weekend in Palm Springs and it was the best time. Group text just isn't enough with us 4 so we try to meet up as much as possible since one lives in California and us 3 gals live here in Arizona. It was what all of us needed a little getaway from life for a bit relaxing at the pool, eating, drinking and laughing. I am quickly looking at the calendar now to see when we could all meet up again to do another trip.
